Overview
If you have 6 days (6D/5N) to discover Leh-Ladakh, this is enough time to visit the main places in Sham, Nubra valley and Pangong lake. You could even include Tso Moriri lake in your itinerary, but it would be little bit hectic and in that case it would be better to extend the trip to 7 days.
Itinerary #1 is the same itinerary as in Incredible Leh-Ladakh tour package. After spending the first day in Leh, a day trip to the Sham region allows you to visit some of the impressive monasteries such as Alchi, Likir, Basgo and Spituk. On day 2, you can also see Gurdwara Pathar Sahib, the Magnetic Hill and Sangam. For the next two days, explore the Nubra valley. After driving across the Khardung La pass (5,602m), visit the Diskit gompa and the Samstanling monastery in Sumur. For an unforgettable experience, you can go for a camel ride at Hunder sand dunes. On day 5, do a day trip to the famous Pangong lake from Leh.
Itinerary #2 is the same as itinerary #1, except that you drive directly from the Nubra valley to Pangong lake via Shayok without coming back to Leh for the night in between the two tours. Therefore, this itinerary gives you the opportunity to spend one night at Pangong lake and to be there for both the sunset and the sunrise.
Itinerary #3 is similar to itinerary #2. The only difference is that itinerary #3 explores the Sham region (western Ladakh) more in depth, with one night in Kargil, the second largest town in Ladakh after Leh.
Itinerary #4 is the most complete itinerary that one can do in Ladakh in 6 days. Indeed, in addition to Sham, Nubra valley and Pangong lake, this itinerary also includes the visit to Tso Moriri lake and Tso Kar lake, two gems of the Changthang region where the most breathtaking landscapes of Ladakh can be found.
